How fees work
Insurance we work with
After a car crash, we send our itemized bills to the auto insurer on your claim, and the insurer decides what is payable. We are out of network, so we don't bill health plans directly.
Auto insurance claim: we bill the insurer you name
Most PPO plans: we give you a receipt and your plan decides
Not sure which applies? Ask the front desk before you book
If you pay yourself
Some people pay for their own visits, before a claim opens or while one is waiting on a decision. A visit's fee depends on its length and what we do, and we tell you before your first visit. The front desk can answer by phone. HSA and FSA cards can often be used: ask your plan administrator.
Receipts for reimbursement
After every visit we can give you an itemized receipt, called a superbill. Your plan may reimburse part of it, and your plan decides. Before you send it, ask your plan:
Is there an acupuncture benefit?
How many visits does it allow?
Is there a copay or a deductible?
Do I need a referral?
An estimate in advance
If you pay without insurance, we give you a written Good Faith Estimate before your first visit. If a bill is ever $400 or more above that estimate, you have the right to dispute it.
Checking your benefits
Before your first visit, ask your claim representative whether acupuncture is covered on your claim and what they need from a provider. The front desk can tell you what insurers usually ask us for, such as visit notes or a doctor's referral.
What the first visit includes
A first visit takes about 75 minutes: a conversation, a look at the sore areas, a treatment and a plan. We share the fee with you in advance, and for a claim we tell you which papers to bring.
