What happens

Your first visit

A first visit takes about 75 minutes. We talk first, look at the areas that hurt, give a treatment and write a plan with you. You can ask us to explain or stop at any point.

What to bring and wear

  • Wear loose clothes you can roll up at the knee and elbow

  • Eat something light beforehand

  • Bring your claim paperwork if you have it, and a list of your medicines

The visit

What happens, in order

  1. 01

    We talk

What happened, what's sore and what your doctor said.

  2. 02

    We look

How you move, where it's tender and what your pulse and tongue show.

  3. 03

    We treat

Needles for about twenty minutes, with a check-in partway, and sometimes cups.

  4. 04

    We plan

What we suggest next, what the next visit costs and what the paperwork needs.

Before we start

Tell us first

  • Pregnancy

Some points are avoided in pregnancy.

  • Blood thinners or bleeding

They change how we place needles.

  • A pacemaker or implant

We don't use a current with one.

  • Lymph node removal

We avoid needles on that side.

  • Needle fear

We go slowly, and we start with a few.

  • What you take

Bring a list. Tell your prescriber about all of it.
