Questions people ask first

Does my car insurance pay for acupuncture?

It depends on your policy and your claim, and the insurer decides. Ask your claim representative whether acupuncture is covered on your claim.

Do I need a doctor's note?

Some insurers ask for a doctor's referral or prescription. Ask your claim representative. You don't need one to book with us.

Will you handle my claim?

No. We keep our own records, send itemized bills to whoever is paying and send notes when an insurer asks.

What if the insurer says no?

You decide what to do next: talk with your claim representative or your attorney, pay yourself or stop. We give you receipts and a copy of your records on request.

Does it hurt?

Most people feel a brief pressure or a dull ache, and many feel nothing. Tell us if anything is too much.

Are the needles clean?

Yes. They are sterile, single-use and thrown away after the visit.

How many visits will I need?

We suggest a plan at your first visit and review it as you go. It's our plan, not a promise, and the insurer decides what it will pay.

Is it safe if I'm pregnant or on blood thinners?

Tell us first. Some points are avoided in pregnancy, and blood thinners change how we place needles. We may suggest you check with your doctor.

Will I have to stop my medicine?

No. Tell your prescriber about everything you take, and bring us a list so we know too.

What does acupuncture not help with, and when should I see a doctor?

It doesn't replace a doctor's exam or emergency care. If you have new numbness or weakness, a severe headache, chest pain or trouble with your bladder or bowels, call 911 or go to the emergency room.

What if I'm struggling with my mood or my sleep since the crash?

Tell us, and talk with your doctor or a counselor too. If you're thinking about hurting yourself, call or text 988, any time.
